![]() ![]() It’s somewhere between Nerdcore and Seattle garage band music. Filthstepįilthstep is the lo-fi, Super Nintendo cousin of Dubstep. Great examples of the classic style are Rusko and Kode 9. Classic Dubstep uses all of the wobbles, wubs, glitches, and blips you hear in all of the sub-genres and other genres of electronic music. You’ll feel small, a little nervous as the song builds up the first rise towards the drop… and then you’re in love. It’ll most likely be of the classic style and it’ll be like nothing you’ve ever heard before. This is what it feels like the first time you hear dubstep. Also, you’ll find links to artists that specialize in each sub-style. So what I’ve done is include a picture or GIF to describe it visually. It requires a bit of acquiring the taste and then becoming accommodated enough to notice the differences. It’s hard to describe each of these by their subtly unique sounds. So without further ado: The All Encompassing Dubstep Sub-Genre List Gorestep is one like this that I included because it’s gaining in its influence and will lock it’s place in this list soon enough. Some are just demeaning names for other sub-genres and some are just too unique. Regardless, I’ve put together a list of 17 sub-genres, although I encountered even more names like Cackstep. I guess it’s clever marketing, carving out your own path and being a big fish in a small pond. Everyone and their mom can now buy dubstep creation software for cheap, watch a few tutorials, create their own special snowflake style of Dubstep, and upload it to Soundcloud and Reddit… all within about an hour’s time. You could go as far as to call these sub-sub-genres, or as I like to call them: Sub-Dubs. Make sure to grab those tickets before they sell out at relentlessbeats.Believe it or not, there’s a boatload of sub-genres in Dubstep, which is itself a sub-genre of Drum & Bass. Phoenix Lights, Deadbeats: 4/20, and Wet Electric all are in April and are awaiting you. There is more in store coming up that the Relentless Beats team is preparing. There were so many suprises and cool scenic experiences that they put together. This was another incredible event hosted by Relentless Beats. “Remedy”, “Heroes”, and “Under Control” were a few tracks that made evening amazing. ![]() To end the festival, Alesso was more than ready to bring all of the feels to Arizona. Halfway through 3lau’s set, Galantis came out for a special and unexpected five minute B2B. Next up, 3lau came through with his well known tracks, “How You Love Me” and “Touch”. The dubstep masked trio, Black Tiger Sex Machine, were well prepared for what Arizona needed and they delivered. With her house filled music, Anna Lunoe preformed a great set to get the crowd moving again. Opening the second night were Blossom, Um…, and Wooli. ![]() Halfway through his set, Slander came out to do a special B2B for their song “First Time”. He played his memorable songs: “Rush Over Me” and “Strangers”. Seven Lions was then ready to bring a sweet ending to the first night. Halfway through Slander’s set, Said The Sky came out to tease at their new song “Potions” which is coming out soon. They played some of their top hits, “Super Human”, “Happy Now”, and “Without You”. The dynamic duo, Slander, were up next and the people of Rawhide were more than excited. After Spage Heddy, Joyrdye took the crowd by storm and brought his bouncy dubstep/house energy. Following the openers, Spag Heddy started things off with his heavy dubstep and bass filled sounds. All have incredible talent and bright futures in the music industry. ![]() The openers to start the first night were Bardz, Kaivon, and Wuki. Relentless Beats has shown us that they continue to put on the best music events in Arizona without question. In the venue itself, it was easy to move around and dance with your friends. Golf carts helped you get from your car to the venue. All the way from the headliners to the workers, Crush has made a lasting impression on the House of Hearts team. This year’s Crush festival at Rawhide Event Center was the best place to be during Valentine’s Day weekend. ![]()
